Kitted Inventory Items
Kitting of inventory is available for sales orders
and quotes. The field Kit Style
in the inventory record on the Main form tab displays a list box to record
the kit style. Component details are set up in the Alternate form
tab including quantities. There are two types of kits in use
- Kit - the sum of the selling prices of the components are
adjusted to equal the kit header selling price. Where
the component totals cannot be made to agree to the header price, a rounding
item is automatically added to the kit
- Template - there is no selling price at the kit header level. It is calculated as the sum of the component selling prices
When a kitted item is selected on a sales order or
quote, component details can be added, changed or deleted for that transaction
form only. The
kit header price is adjusted as follows and applies to bth styles - Kit and Template:
- Component added - header price increased by the
sell price of the item being added
- Component deleted - header price reduced by the
sell price of the item being deleted
- Component changed - header price is not changed
